Planning & Architecture

kitchen remodel stamford ct

Built in 1850, this house was formerly a tinsmith shop. Even though it was practically unlivable, having been neglected for over forty years, it was extremely charming.

Most of the house had to be re-built: we combined functionality and charm by mixing modern appliances, warm wood floors (wormy chestnut and Caribbean pine), honed marble countertops, butcher block cooking island top.

Kitchen Design

We concentrated on making the kitchen area the heart of the house by combining several small and odd rooms, into a pleasant flowing, larger space.

The kitchen/dining area is open and lighter since we added new, larger windows and ceiling height. The kitchen island with seating add to the room overall functionality and aesthetic appeal. Simply the perfect place for gathering friends and family!

Comfortable Sitting Area

This kitchen island is the centerpiece of the room and the central work space.

The butcher-block counter top offers a great prep and nice sitting areas, where dining can be comfortably enjoyed for any occasion.

It offers a great traffic flow with open space. No one gets in the cook’s way and everyone can have a good time!

Den – TV room

The den was small and dark: New  floors, windows, doors, cathedral ceiling, roof lines created a roomier and brighter space. We used  a Terra cotta plaster finish on the walls to add interest.

We also rebuilt the brick fireplace, replacing it with a stone one and a beautiful hand-painted and distressed oak mantel.

Perfectly cozy room to enjoy a movie and nice a fire on a cold day!

Master Bath

Nature-inspired colors, such as beige, gray and green, give this bathroom an organic feel along with a calming effect. Blending beautiful natural materials makes it warm and soft .

Wormy chestnut flooring was used, a tall, wooden vanity outfitted with a tumbled marble vessel sink makes this bathroom rather inviting. A walk-in marble shower with an oversize shower head add beauty and functionality to the room.

Powder Room

A tea cart was re-used as a vanity, outfitted with an antique sink and a pretty faucet. A vintage oversized mirror and an antique chandelier provide stylish focal points when you enter the room.

A hand-painted mural and a faux-finish sky on the ceiling  makes this powder room unique. It is interesting to look at while soaking in the over sized bathtub.
